Welcome to Melkbosstrand High School’s website.  These pages will attempt to give insight into life as a Melkbosstrand student and show you what wonderful experiences and opportunities are on offer at our school.

Our primary aim is to encourage each Melkbosser to be a self-confident, inquiring, tolerant, positive, value driven young adult.  Our motto, “aspirantes ad excellentiam” – to strive towards excellence – must form part of the everyday life of a Melkie at Melkbos. Melkbosstrand High School is a value driven school.  We want each Melkie to uphold the values of integrity, respect, diligence, caring, responsibility and self-discipline.

I think the point of education is to prepare young people for success as adults in both their personal and professional lives. Academic results are important for us and will continue to be so, but young people need to develop character and the correct attitude alongside their intelligence. It is therefore important to take part in the extra mural program of the school. Each individual student is valued, and progress is closely monitored.

The school follows the national curriculum, with a wide spectrum of subjects leading to the National Senior Certificate.  It is this breadth and variety, along with an opportunity to pursue subjects of choice, which encourages our students to embrace our motto “aspirantes ad excellentiam”.
